We left Broken Hill and travelled into Sth Australia buoyed by the thought that things were looking up…until we stopped in Yunta and were told a strange sound was coming from the trailer! Marcus had a look and saw one of the brakes had lost a screw and was rubbing on the wheel…we found a local mechanic who fixed temporarily, with the advice to see a guy in Peterborough. We got there without mishap and the mechanic there was available and creative, actually manufacturing a missing piece to go with the screw…outback ingenuity! From there we made our way to Wilpena Pound where we stayed the night in a wonderful environment and setup. The next day we travelled through Bunyeroo Gorge and Brachina Gorge…beautiful spots we remembered from previous trips. Then it was into drier, more remote areas on the way up to Maree. Soon onto the Oodnadatta.
