An opportunity for a bit of relaxation time to recharge the travel batteries before the journey to Eversham and the Murg’s special day. Day started by sharing ‘craic’ over breakfast with a lovely Irish couple and travellers from Germany. Boarded a horse drawn canal boat for a leisurely meander followed by a walk across the massive Pontcysyllte aqueduct that forms part of the canal network. This aqueduct is now a world heritage listed structure and climbs 126 feet from the river below. However, as it is only wide enough for a single vessel, there are often water traffic jams at either end, which make for some interesting and entertaining banter between the crew and the landlubbers.
